Meanwhile, the latest episode of As the World Burns, sponsored by the friendly folks at PNAC, has suspense, drama, thrills and excitement for everyone: we have a civil war raging in Iraq between the Shi'ites and Sunnis, a civil war raging in the Pentagon between pro-Bush generals and anti-Bush generals, a civil war raging in the CIA between career professionals in the Agency and Bush's political hacks, and a civil war raging in the White House between the Rovians and the Cheneyites.
Other than that, everything is under control and freedom is on the march from the Euphrates to the Potomac, thanks to Bush's government of the criminals, by the criminals, and for the criminals.

Can the Bushies take a chance and name an outsider to be the new spokesperson for the administration? Certainly they can't name someone with integrity, otherwise they risk that person later becoming a whistleblower and blowing the lid off of their criminal enterprise. As the walls close in...

Citizen J #9 -
When a right winger has no argument, and logic is not possible, four things may happen:
1. Blame Bill Clinton or Jimmy Carter.
2. Change the subject.
3. Attack the messenger
4. When all else fails, call the messenger a leftist, socialist or a Commie.
When they get to calling a critic a commie, they have nothing left.

As a fully enveloped member of a cult, he will continue to drink his leader's dirty bathwater as it was sacramental wine even while that leader blatantly contravenes the cult's most cherished principles.
Regarding Scotty Mac, he was a true believer thrown to the wolves after Ari-the-Mercenary had the good sense to take his pride and beat a hasty retreat. Nobody with half an ounce of self-esteem would take the job of Mouthpiece for a criminal liar. Scotty Mac was perfect because he had neither the self-esteem nor the brains to know when he was being abused and beaten (by both sides of the podium).

I worked so hard on putting a post up that just disappeared when I pushed the back key to edit it after testing all the links. This seems to happen half the time I'm working on posts here. Some little bug in the system, I suspect???
With gnashing of teeth, I proceed again to recreate the post, this time the abbreviated version.
On the subject of Iran and bunker buster bombs:
Koryannder and Reed, would you take a look at this flash animation of a bunker buster bomb and tell me if you think its effects premise is correct? If so, Congressman Conyers, please take a look. It is from the Union of Concerned Scientists' website. Animation of a Bunker Buster Bomb and its effects.
Randi Rhodes appeared on Lou Dobbs this week BEGGING CNN and the media to be at the test site of the monstrous bomb test being set off in Nevada on June 2nd. Randi is appearing on Paula Zahn tonight as well, probably with the same plead. Randi feels the public desperately needs to know what is going on about this bomb test and what the government is planning for Iran.
On Randi Rhode's website is a link to the story about 13 of the nation's most prominent physicists who have written a letter to President Bush and to their representatives, warning that '“It is gravely irresponsible for the U.S. as the greatest superpower to consider courses of action that could eventually lead to the widespread destruction of life on the planet. We urge the administration to announce publicly that it is taking the nuclear option off the table in the case of all non-nuclear adversaries, present or future, and we urge the American people to make their voices heard on this matter.”'
Read the article here. A link to the physicists’ letter is contained in the article.
Randy also has a corrected story from The Salt Lake Tribune. Their first story stated the June 2 bomb was to be five times larger than the largest conventional weapon in the U.S. arsenal, but their correction states the explosion will actually “be nearly 50 times bigger.”
Now when I re-read that, I'm wondering if they mean that it will be 50 times bigger than the 5 times stated earlier, or if they just mean it will be 50 times larger than the largest conventional weapon in the U.S. arsenal. Hummmmmm, some interesting semantics here. Probably just the way my suspicious mind works.
Randi had a link to information about a NYC march for Peace, Justice and Democracy on April 29th. If anyone lives in the area and wants to attend, here is the link for information on the NYC march.
This week I read an online article about why the Europeans were upset with Americans. It isn't because they think we support Bush, because they know most of us don't, but the fact that we are not out on the streets protesting about all the awful things this Administration is doing and that we sit passively by and let things happen.
I really have to agree. I feel like except for the blog here and all the other groups on the Internet, most Americans just give lip service to any feelings they have and just reach for another beer and turn the channel on the TV or plug into their i-pod. I don't want to lose my democracy because the rest of the people out in America have no clue what is going on. I COULD blame people, but I REALLY blame the media for it. As Randi said, she feels it is the media’s duty to let people know about the bomb blast test being planned and to bring it to a very high level. It is also why our work here on this blog is so important.
I'm getting ready to make some kind of private/public statement, like a one-man protest on a daily basis by wearing T-shirts with slogans on them. Maybe start some weekly protest on the street corner and see if it takes root.
As a side note, I saw the movie V for Vendetta on Saturday. RUN, don't walk to see this wonderful film. The screenwriters, Andy and Larry Wachowski of Matrix trilogy fame really have their finger on the pulse of things.

By the way, I just get a kick out of Libby's counsel who are throwing everything in but the kitchen sink to try to get Libby's case thrown out. I think pretty soon the judge is going to have it out with his attorneys.

Then I just gave up and concentrated instead on recreating my "poof" post.
Everyone, I urge you to watch/listen to this video clip of Randi talking to Lou Dobbs on CNN. You will hear the urgency in her voice. Thank goodness for someone in the media speaking out on the urgency of this matter. Lou Dobbs thanked Randi for bringing it to his attention.

"No One Claims $500,000 Stash in Truck
Thursday, April 20, 2006
By Cindi Lash, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette
When security guards at the Beaver Valley Power Station discovered a bag containing thousands of dollars in a tractor-trailer cab, one of the vehicle's occupants told them his boss planned to use the cash to buy a truck.
It must have been some truck.
State police said the bag, which guards spotted on Tuesday while conducting a routine search of the tractor-trailer at the entrance to the nuclear power plant, contained 10 plastic-wrapped bundles of cash totaling $504,230.
Police later seized the money and bag after a dog trained to detect drugs sniffed and reacted to the bag, indicating contact with controlled substances.
The truck driver and passenger, whose names were withheld but who are from Texas, were released without charges because no apparent crime had been committed.
Investigators also notified the FBI's Joint Terrorism Task Force, but said they do not believe the money or truckers are linked to workers or activities at the plant.
Police said the truckers had come from Chicago and were making a scheduled stop to pick up and transport containers of tools to Youngstown, Ohio.
In the search, the officers found a green, blue and black duffel bag with a padlock in the sleeper berth of the cab, Trooper Bayer said. The truckers didn't have a key for the lock, so guards cut it off and spotted cash inside, he said.
The truckers said the money wasn't theirs and they didn't know how it got there, Trooper Bayer said. In court papers filed to obtain a search warrant, state police said one of the truckers told security officers that "it was their [boss's] money and he was going to buy a truck with it."
But when the security workers called the truckers' boss in Houston, he also said he knew nothing about the money. The security officers called police, but the truckers backed out of the plant and drove off.
Police broadcast a description of the truck and Sgt. Davis pulled it over after spotting it on Route 168 south, near the Shippingport Bridge. He said the truckers were polite, but the passenger had no identification and said it had been stolen from the truck the night before.
"Your ID is stolen but not that bag of cash? Red flags were popping up all over," Sgt. Davis said."
What the hell is going on here?
Two guys show up at a nuclear power plant with $500,000 in cash.
These guys are from TEXAS and were on their way to OHIO.
They first told police they didn't know how the $500,000 got in their truck. THEN they said it was for buying a truck for their boss. But their boss says that money isn't his and he doesn't know anything about it.
The passenger had no ID, he told police it has been stolen the night before.
Both men have been released "because no apparent crime had been committed."
The authorities will not divulge their names.
Perhaps I'm being a paranoid, leftist, fever-swamp, tinfoil conspiracy theorist who doesn't get out of my parent's basement enough, but it seems to me that "Iranian terrorists" sabotaging a nuclear power plant and turning half of Pennsylvania into a radioactive wasteland would be a very convenient "justification" for Bush attacking Iran.
Apparently, the FBI's Joint Terrorism Task Force figures that truckers just happen to show up at American nuclear power plants with $500,000 in cash all the time.
Maybe these two Texans really were out shopping at nuke plants for a really nice pick-em up truck with that $500,000 so their boss could cruise for chicks in style . . . maybe they really were going to deliver some tools to friends and associates in the People's Republic of Ohio . . . maybe their boss just forgot about that $500,000 because he's a busy man and has lots of important stuff to do everyday.
OR, maybe a couple of minimum wage security guards just prevented the Rovians from bribing a nuke plant worker to engage in some very timely sabotage and hand Bush the Decider another 9/11 to exploit on behalf of his handlers at PNAC and to cheer up the psychopaths at the Republican National Committee.
Comment #31: Genghis Khan said on 4/20/06 @ 7:43pm ET...
Smells like a "dirty bomb" materials purchase if I ever saw one.
Spent nuclear fuel can't be used for an explosive device, nor would it be suitable for "enrichment", but would be extremely useful in a dirty bomb. The resultant pollution would be extremely harmful for thousands of years and full remediation would be horrendously difficult and expensive.
While true that no apparent crime had been committed, the FBI should keep a team of agents stationed deep in these men's rectums for the next year.

Buzzflash has a link to a Harpers Magazine story that talks about many in the CIA fearing some subpoenas or indictments might be possibly headed in that direction and they do not want to be caught up in it. This could be very important news.
There's nothing like having one's own butt on the line to make people straighten up and fly right. Read Harpers Magagine's article entitled 'The CIA “Wehrmacht”' by Ken Silverstein.
The White House must be really hating these new poll results reported by Fox News. Won't it be interesting to see how the White House Press tries to spin these poll numbers?
Whoever takes the Spinmeister's post had better be asking for additional battle pay. I understand there is a real flack jacket that is handed down from one Press Secretary to the next. The retiring Press Secretary adds a note addressed to the new Press Secretary in a pocket of the jacket. Ari Fleischer revealed this custom to CNN's Wolf Blitzer in an interview a day or two ago.

#29, GK, I've gotten to where I actually sit on the couch to give the Lou Dobbs show my full attention each evening. All other TV gets my partial attention from where I sit at the computer.
What I love about Lou Dobbs is that Lou is taking action on his anger at what he sees going on in the Administration, the Congress and the Senate, and instructing people how to use their voice for change as well. He is telling people to call/write their Congressmen/Senators AND the White House on issues that upset them and he has links on his site.
Lou recently sent some polls that he takes every day on his show to the White House.
I used to get mad at Lou Dobbs because he used to just appear to be reporting things but shrugging his shoulders as if to say, "Eh, can't do anything about it." I'd send him an email where I'd rant and rave at him and call him a wimp and tell him to take some action. Now I send him emails filled with deep appreciation.

CLASSIFIED BY: [Person's Name]
E.O. 12958 Reason: 1.5(c) and (d)This tells us why this document was classified and the various levels of classification, so there is little room for mistakes, about what is and what is not classified in the first place. The citation is
EO 12958 Sec. 1.5(c) & (d)
Oh, then that means this document was classified SECRET because it reveals intelligence sources and foreign confidential sources. Well I guess that would mean
"Valerie Wilson, a CIA WMD manager, and the wife of Joe Wilson."But what about the words ORCON/NOFORN? This paper on
ORCON Creep explains ORCON. See the last paragraph on page 4 and most of page 5.
Rules governing ORCON are in Sec. 9.2 of

The SECRET//.../ORCON classification should have immediately thrown up a bright flashing Red Light to anyone with half a brain. This is the type of information loss that makes Espionage and Treason cases.
So now, we not only have the first President to

Along about mid-July, just when the campaigns are getting interesting, and the Republican lie machines (a la Atwater, Chotiner, Nofziger, Rove, etc,) are in full cry, and the Democrats are being painted as being "Soft on Terrorism," or even treasonous, there will be a major 'False-Flag' 'Terrorist' incident that will be blamed on Iran. For the rest of the run-up to the election, that is ALL you'll hear about, and the attempt to get honest elections out of the dishonest machines will go by the wayside. The oil companies feel our pain...as they register BILLION DOLLAR profits from their manipulation of the supply side over the demand side of their greedy enterprise...all supported by our Executive branch of government...Bush told us going in that there would be sacrifices to make...little did we know he meant to steal our wallets for his rich friends in the oil industry who continue to lie, obfuscate and twist the truth to hide the fact that they are bleeding the American people at the pump while compiling massive wealth...where's Congress in all this?
"In the absence of a clear explanation, members of Congress have jumped into the fray. "These major oil companies have hooked their hose up to the pocketbooks of American citizens and are sucking money from ordinary Americans into the treasury of the giant oil companies," said Sen. Byron L. Dorgan (D-N.D.), a member of both the Senate Commerce and Energy committees. Sen. Charles E. Schumer (D-N.Y.) on Tuesday called on the Federal Trade Commission to make sure the major oil companies weren't intentionally keeping refinery capacity offline to jack up prices. He cited a 5-percentage-point decline in refinery utilization rates."

POO:
A rethug is somone who supports Emperor Bush and his Nazi party, and supports a leader who lies about a war and sends young men and women to die in a war, cares less about people's suffering after a major catastrophe, and wants to quash our civil and constitutional rights. He or she is a dictator that needs to be impeached nad indicted.
You are one of those rethugs.......why don't you go play with your little friends at the Free Republic, this is a place where grown ups work!
Comment #54: point of order said on 4/21/06 @ 9:58pm ET...
I think if "he" was a "dictator" you probably wouldn't be able to perform your "grown-up work" quite as easily.

Hey Pointless Disorder:
Oh, we still can. We still can. But since your so-called leader is sinking in the polls, there is a good chance that we can take back Congress from this dictatorship and kick Hier Bush's ass. You will probably respond no, but you are so blind by your absolute and unquestioning loyalty to Emperor Bush and the Nazi (Republican) Party that you can't see this reality.
Now go play with your kindergarten playmates, we adults have some work to do!!!

Hey Neerav, What freedoms have you lost?

TIA #23 - depending on the loading, the angle of incidence, and the permeability of the soil, the animation was either fairly accurate or heavily underestimating the caliber of disaster. In SAND, which Iran largely is, the fallout plume could go two or three times as far, since the penetration would be deeper before detonation, hence a larger volume plume would eventuate.
On another subject, I have begun to believe that Admin. allows that troll POO to continue to post as a matter of comic relief; he/she is so (expletive deleted) out of touch with reality as to furnish anyone who knows what's going on with a good laugh at the utter depth of non sequiturs provided in every piece of drivel POO drools.

Pointless Shithead,
There are six years worth of FACTS staring you in the face that prove the Bush regime has been constantly engaged in criminal conspiracies, treasonous leaks of classified material, massive electoral fraud, and pervasive and relentless obstruction of justice.
Most of the Republicans in Congress are fully aware of this criminal conduct, have actively supported it, and have plotted to conceal it. They have betrayed this country and everything it stands for. They have indulged their fascist compulsions at a horrific cost to America and the world, and are going be held accountable.
I don't really care what kind of delusional urge compels you to come here and post your little comments, but I do care that there are still millions of shitheads like you running around loose in America, soiling it with your mindless support of this criminal regime and its co-conspirators throughout the GOP.
You are all traitors.
Your twisted minds are incapable of grasping the enormity of the suffering and misery you are inflicting upon America and the world because of your demented support for a pack of lying criminals.
Fortunately, your twisted minds will be rotting away in cemeteries someday, and then America can finally heal itself of this sick generation of brainwashed rightwing fools who have betrayed American democracy.

and then loving compassionate people such as yourself can lead America down the primrose lane.
Comment #61: Rusty said on 4/23/06 @ 5:24pm ET...
Pointless Shithead,
You're so ignorant you don't even realize you're a fascist.
Fascists like you always develop the demented belief that they are patriots and love their country. But in reality, they are sick people who have no idea what patriotism and love of country really mean, and require of them.
As far as compassion, I have compassion for all of the innocent victims of this fascist GOP government you worship and defend with such appalling stupidity.
My compassion for the victims of Bush and his thugs in thousand dollar suits compels me to confront alleged human beings like you, because YOU are responsible for the suffering of these innocent and powerless people, as is everyone else who blindly supports Bush and his criminal GOP.
If you want to make snide comments about compassion, direct those comments at Bush and his "compassionate conservatives" who have betrayed every principle of Christianity and American democracy during their six-year orgy of warmongering, greed, and reckless deceit.

You assume to many things about which you have no basis in fact, why does this not surprise me?
Comment #63: Chemung said on 4/30/06 @ 2:52am ET...
OOOOOOHHHHH POO, you are so sexy, with your cryptic ways of saying nothing while you pose as some source of ineffable wisdom. You act like you were the sage living on the mountain top, pronouncing judgemental little "observations" that need no explanation: (ie: "You assume to many things (sic) about which you have no basis in fact, why does this not surprise me?") You are such an obviously illiterate dolt and an idiot.
Oh please dear sage, tell more . . . . You are a such a fool.
I would propose once again that we on this blog simply ignore the rantings of such fools as POO . . . a pathetic poseur with nothing of any value to say about anything.
POO is obviously a shill for the most twisted and sick kind of fascism. Laugh at him. scorn him. But refrain from dignifying his stupidity with any kind of inellectual responsiveness.
POO is a goose-stepping clown who has a pathological craving for attention and conflicted relationships, and probably spends the other half of his time on kiddie porn sites, fantasizing about 10-year-old girls having sex with animals as preparation for a life of prostitution. This is capitalist fascism at its best, as POO and his ilk like to imagine it.
This is their sick idea of human drama.... filled with violence and dominance and submission. We will transcend this sickness in time. We must transcend this sickness in time.
POO is just a symptom of the sickness that engulfs the world today and has the superstitious "hard liners" and extremists of both sides battling for domination. They have created a mutually understood venue for their sick insanity. Our challenge is to take control away from these sickos and bring the world and our country back to the realm of civilization and intelligent intentionality.
We shall overcome this insanity.
