BUSH & CO. TO BE ARRESTED!!!

Along with the entire Bush cabinet including Condoleza Rice, the entire Bush Administration is under arrest by special detachments of the FBI and foreign Law enforcement agencies that have been gathering evidence to include the latest "Downing Street Memos." This was the stick that has finally broke the camels back.

Democrat and Republicans that have cow-towed to the corrupt administration have their paper shredders going overtime and the closets and desk drawers are being cleaned out of all suspect evidences of associations.

It's too late for those that are planing on going down with the ship for the sakes of showmanship to the Bush regime, but for the most part, leading polls of the people show that senators and congress people lead by the heroic John Conyers on the Democrats side and Ron Paul from the Republican are fast growing in number.

John Conyers also lead the hearings on C-Span 2 today in a small room that was not worthy of the importance of this issue. The Republicans threw up all types of obstacles in front of those courageous Representatives. There were congresswomen saying there were more votes in one day then was usual. This drew several comments from congress people about how it seemed funny, and that it was like it was planed to keep them away from that hearing on the "Downing Street Memos." Not an unusual move from this corrupt administration and the puppets it owns.

The Republicans are trying an end run to beat the imposition of the eminent impeachment proceedings.
The terror alert is at RED level and it's only in the White House! The Nation is fast awakening to the lies and deceit of this administration. It seems the course of events has turned everyone into born again constitutionalists and the 'Johnny Comes Home' march is on! What a swing to try and save the Emperors face.
The dodge to pass a bill to bring the troops home is a ploy to stave off the "Downing Street Memo" from hitting home where it is now stewing up the people's steam.

I am so impressed that a Congressman would take one comment out of thousands of posts, and respond to it. Not only respond, but actually take the trouble to go to the site and thank them.

I remember reading that post, but I never thought, with all you have had to do, that you would have noticed it. You could easily have been forgiven for that considering the important work you are doing, and the incredible schedule you have kept over the past few weeks and especially the past few days.

You are amazing. I wish we had more like you in Congress. You put others to shame.

Speaking of which, I just saw Gephardt on CNN criticizing our Chairman, Howard Dean and agreeing with Bush's policy on Iraq. Where did he get the idea that he could influence anyone at this point in our history?

The rightwing thrashed him constantly when he was minority leader, while we on the Internet defended him. They will never support him, no matter how he sucks up to them.

It's sad to see people like Gephardt desert those who got it right and who would have supported him 100% had he not deserted us. Now he has lost our respect, and will never gain the respect of the right. I don't understand Democrats like this. Surely he cannot ignore the deaths of the Iraqi people, our own troops, all for a lie? He has, imo, disgraced himself at a time when even Republicans are beginning to see how wrong they were.

I live in a small community, Ooltewah, TN, between Chattanooga and Cleveland, and I truly feel that with my representative in Congress, Zach Wamp, and my 2 senators I don't have much of a voice in my government. I've seen this mentioned in letters to the editor of the Chattanooga News Free Press: if you're not a supporter they really don't care what your concerns are. My voice is most often expressed by the members of the CBC, and others who are courageous enough to speak truth to power.

I think you may be right about Mr. Conyers continuing his service, however that's nothing to be proud of as the unemployment rate is pretty high as is the crime rate. I can understand your feelings. I am from Louisiana. Here my representatives are Mary Landreau. Bobby Jindal, and David Vitter. Talk about people so far from this issue its not funny.
But rest assured TNLEFTY that my representatives get emails and letters from me, as if it's enough. I tell myself i will not sit idly by while innocent lives are lost for lies, but perhaps my letters are a way of sitting by since I know that my representatives are on the inside.

John Coyners is an inspiration to many, and to me personally. I put my name on anything I beleive in, he just seems to be the only one in Congress on the same page. I wish I could do more, what would I do?

Before believing his carefully packaged propaganda campaign about the British Downing Street Memo, Americans ought to learn more about Congressman John Conyers and the forces behind this con game.

John Conyers, Jr. is a Democratic Member of Congress who represents the 14th District of Michigan, which includes roughly half of Detroit, most of Dearborn with America's biggest Arab-American community, and all of once-Polish-American Hamtramck.

From Hamtramck the Muslim call to prayer now echoes across the area from local mosque loudspeakers five times each day, the first at 6 A.M. and the last at 10 P.M. Conyers' official congressional web site allows visitors, at the click of a mouse, to read its contents in Arabic.

Congressman Conyers belongs to the radical Progressive Caucus, and in 1969 he was one of 13 co-founders of the Congressional Black Caucus in the House of Representatives.

His voting record, according to the progressive Americans for Democratic Action (ADA) tilts left between 90 and 100 percent of the time. According to the 2002 rankings of the National Journal Conyers is the most "liberal" member of the House of Representatives.

Conyers is the most prominent lawmaker lobbying to free Mumia Abu-Jamal, the convicted murderer of a Philadelphia police officer. Conyers has been a National Executive Board member of the National Lawyers Guild (NLG), which was created as a Soviet front and still embraces its Communist heritage. In a June 1, 1979 New York Times opinion piece he co-authored with Marcus Raskin, co-founder of the extreme leftwing think tank the Institute for Policy Studies (IPS), Conyers asserted that "government's responsibility is to revitalize the nation's economy through creative forms of public ownership" - in other words, through socialism.

Civil Rights activist Rosa Parks worked on Conyers' 1964 campaign and was employed for more than two decades in his Detroit office. But unlike Parks, who committed civil disobedience to change society by refusing to sit in the back of a segregated public bus, Conyers has deliberately designed laws to treat citizens of different races differently and to impose obedience to policies of reverse racism. One such Conyers law requires police to keep statistics on the race of people they question or arrest in to order to discourage "racial profiling" of minorities, a law that also makes police more reluctant to question or arrest minority citizens even when such actions are warranted.

Conyers helped enact "hate crime" laws, which critics have described as punishing people for "thought crimes" and politically-incorrect speech. These laws in practice are often applied unequally. If a white hits a black, big city prosecutors frequently add hate crime charges to impose a heavier criminal penalty. If a black hits a white, such prosecutors seldom add charges involving hate crime statutes.

Conyers has authored a bill to study the economic harm done to descendants of slaves, the results of which research will lay the basis for demanding that potentially trillions of dollars in reparations be paid by American taxpayers to black Americans. None of today's taxpayers have legally held slaves in America, and none of the potential recipients of such reparations have ever been slaves, slavery having been abolished in the U.S. in 1865. But as Fabian socialist playwright George Bernard Shaw wrote, he who robs Peter to pay Paul can always count on Paul's support.

For a radical like Conyers, such racially-polarizing issues are win-win propositions. They encourage minorities to regard themselves as victims and to regard white America as their victimizer. If reparations are paid to every African-American, Conyers can take credit for the largesse. If reparations are not paid, Conyers can denounce this as racism and use the issue to stir resentment and to justify more political transfer of wealth to minorities via other means such as welfare and racial preferences.

Conyers describes as one of his "major accomplishments" the "Motor Voter Bill of 1993," which facilitates the voter registration of all who apply for a state driver's license or for welfare or other government benefits. Conyers' legislation also impeded the removal of potentially fraudulent names from local voter rolls.

Conyers has joined fellow Black Caucus (and former Progressive Caucus) member Rep. Charles Rangel (D.-New York) in supporting renewed military conscription, arguing that the volunteer military disproportionately enlists the poor and minorities. This puts Conyers in the odd positions of being a pro-draft-but-anti-war activist as well as a reparations-for-slavery advocate who favors involuntary servitude.

Like most leftwing Democrats, Conyers voted against the use of force in Iraq but also against permitting oil drilling by union workers on a scant 20 acres of the 1.2 million acre Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR), thus voting to keep America dependent on Middle Eastern oil while opposing efforts to make that region politically democratic and stable.

But Conyers went farther. In January 2003 he was the only member of Congress to speak before, and lend his prestige to, an anti-war rally organized by the Marxist-Leninist, pro-North Korean front group International A.N.S.W.E.R. (Rep. Rangel also addressed the rally but not in person - via a letter read by another speaker.) Conyers embraced his comrades in this group with the same enthusiasm and support he gave during the Cold War to the Soviet-backed World Peace Council.

He co-sponsored, and persuaded many other members of the Progressive Caucus to sign, a letter pressing President Bill Clinton to "delink" economic from military sanctions against Saddam Hussein. This letter, which was aimed at ending economic sanctions against the Iraqi dictator, supported Hussein's propaganda depicting American and British-backed sanctions as the main cause of disease and infant death in Iraq. In fact, the United Nations Oil-for-Food Program was generating billions of dollars to help the Iraqi people - but much of this money was being siphoned off by Hussein for weapons and palaces, and by U.N. officials and political figures in nations such as France who were on Hussein's then-secret payroll.

In May 2002 Conyers was one of 17 House Democrats who voted against a Resolution (HR 392) expressing support for Israel as it faced terrorist attacks that killed more than 600 civilians, including several Americans. The resolution stated that "the United States and Israel are now engaged in a common struggle against terrorism." Whether Conyers voted against this resolution because he represents more Arab-Americans than any other Member of Congress, or because radical American Muslim groups lobbied against it, or because many leftwing radicals like himself now support the Palestinians who refuse to make peace with the Jewish State, Conyers did not say.

In 2001 the United States withdrew most of its diplomatic participation in the United Nations' World Conference Against Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia And Related Intolerance in Durban, South Africa after it became clear that the gathering would give prominence not only to anti-American but also to anti-Israel and anti-Semitic leaders. Despite this, several leftwing Americans including Congressman Conyers and six other congressional Democrats attended and lent their prestige to what became an anti-Jewish hatefest.

Congressman Conyers has also long favored reducing or ending U.S. economic sanctions and travel restrictions against Cuba, for whose Marxist regime Conyers in 1997 helped arrange an opportunity to lobby Congress in lawmaker offices on Capitol Hill. But Conyers has not always opposed such sanctions, even when they imposed hardship on the poor in targeted nations. In 1972 he joined then-Congressman Ron Dellums from Berkeley, California, in co-sponsoring legislation to impose harsh economic sanctions against white-ruled Apartheid South Africa.

"When we introduced the bill to bring sanctions and disinvestment of American corporations in South Africa," said Dellums in a 1998 PBS interview, "it was a Berkeley, Commie, Pinko, Socialist idea, but later on it became an idea that people all over the country embraced because they understood it." Apparently sanctions in Conyers' view are fine when used to bring down a white racist regime in South Africa - but not when used to weaken the red racist regime of Fidel Castro or the Ba'athist socialist dictatorship of Saddam Hussein.

When Castro and his Soviet allies attempted to take over Central America during the 1980s, Conyers strongly supported the Nicaraguan Sandinista dictatorship backed by those Marxist powers. "There is more freedom and less brutality in revolutionary Nicaragua," wrote Conyers in a letter published in the March 7, 1986 New York Times, "than in Central American countries supported by the [Ronald Reagan] Administration." Conyers signed a fund-raising letter for the organization Medical Aid to El Salvador that channeled medical supplies to groups and regions controlled by Cuban-backed Farabundo Marti National Liberation Front (FMLN) terrorist guerrillas.

On March 11, 2003 Congressman Conyers privately convened and invited other members of Congress to a gathering that featured former U.S. Attorney General Ramsey Clark, now associated with the Communist front organization International A.N.S.W.E.R., and more than two dozen leftist attorneys and legal scholars. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss how to impeach President George W. Bush as a way to prevent military action against Saddam Hussein. When Roll Call magazine two days later reported that the meeting had happened, Conyers staff initially denied it, but a Conyers spokesperson Dena Graziano later confirmed the story and added that no "consensus" had been reached about how to proceed. Two decades earlier Conyers had likewise proposed impeaching President Ronald Reagan.

On June 16, 2005, Conyers scheduled a media event to deliver to the Bush White House what, in his Internet blog, Conyers described as "over 540,000 signatures from Americans demanding a response from the Administration to the charges set forth" in the so-called Downing Street Memo (sometimes also called the Downing Street Minutes).

This memo is a purported internal British Government note dated 23 July 2002 by go-between Matthew Rycroft. Its text was published on May Day 2005 by the Times of London. This memo has been seized on by Conyers and more than 100 other Democratic Members of Congress as evidence that the Bush and British Prime Minister Tony Blair governments were looking for, and cooking up, reasons to remove Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein from power.

Was the likelihood of military intervention against Iraq a secret? No, because Saddam Hussein by July 2002 had already defied more than a dozen United Nations Security Council resolutions demanding that he submit to unencumbered inspection for prohibited Weapons of Mass Destruction at all Iraqi potential military and technology sites.

Does this British memo, as Conyers has claimed, show that the Bush and Blair governments believed Hussein had no Weapons of Mass Destruction and that they therefore conspired to lie about this to justify military action? No, the memo explicitly asks what the consequences would be "if Saddam used WMD on day one" of a potential U.S.-British military action - which confirms that Bush and Blair were convinced that Hussein had such weapons. But Conyers and his cohorts somehow neglect to mention this and other evidence in the memo that disproves their own partisan conspiracy theories.

The June 2005 Conyers media event designed to push his latest attempt to undermine the Bush Administration's War on Terrorism was carefully orchestrated. It included pre-arranged interviews with Cable News Network (CNN), the Democrat-funded Air America Radio network with its star Al Franken, taxpayer-funded National Public Radio (NPR), radical Amy Goodman on her show Democracy Now! and other left-liberal establishment media.

How did Conyers obtain 540,000 "signatures" of citizens assailing President Bush over this British memo? On June 1, 2005 Conyers wrote to his supporters on his blog that "the story dies without blogs like Raw Story, BradBlog, DailyKos, Democratic Underground, Progressive Democrats of America and others. The blogosphere has put us well on our way to over 100,000 Americans willing to ask the president to respond to the leaked Memo by signing my open letter to Bush." The gathering of these signatures, in other words, was a concerted campaign involving the cadres of several of America's most extreme left-wing Internet blogs.

"This [Memo] story," wrote Conyers, "should not be allowed to fall down the memory hole during wall-to-wall coverage of the Michael Jackson trial and a runaway bride," as he worked zealously to keep it alive and growing.

On June 9, 2005, Conyers wrote to supporters on his blog: "Today, I am pleased to announce that Moveon.org [sic], one of the pioneers in internet activism has joined our drive to demonstrate that the stonewalling of the White House on the Downing Street Minutes will not stand. We deserve answers and we deserve them now. Given Moveon's involvement, I think we can go for half a million signatures, don't you?"

MoveOn.org is far more than just another leftwing web site. MoveOn.org is heavily funded by, among others, the eccentric billionaire international financier George Soros who spent at least $27 million to defeat President Bush in the 2003-04 election cycle. Soros has said that President Bush made the United States "too strong" in the world, and that Soros sought to oust President Bush to reduce American power to be more on a par with Germany or France.

Operating with the money of Soros and other wealthy leftists, the head of MoveOn.org's Political Action Committee following the 2004 election boasted that "we bought it, we paid for it, we own the Democratic Party." MoveOn.org is one of the "seven sisters" of the Soros-funded "Shadow Party" now busy taking control of the Democratic Party and much of the rest of the left side of America's political spectrum. MoveOn.org and Soros have put their backing behind Conyers' attempt to turn a British memo into a Bush memogate scandal.

Why are Conyers and his fellow left-liberal Democrats eager to wage campaigns to impeach President Bush or to smear him with a scandal as flimsy as the Downing Street Memo? In Conyers' case such tactics can pay many dividends. Such issues divert public attention from the Democrats' lack of any credible positive plan for defeating terrorism or solving social problems. Conyers' issues have the potential to put Republicans on the defensive or at least waste their time and resources, and to provide a rallying point for leftists and Islamists worldwide who are eager to undermine and discredit the war on terrorism and the President leading it. The Michigan district Conyers represents has been gerrymandered to include far more Democrats than Republicans, and far more Muslims than Jews.

In 2004 Conyers was one of the few congressmen prominently featured and positively portrayed in left filmmaker Michael Moore's pseudo-documentary Fahrenheit 9-11. In May 2005 Conyers became a regular contributor to "progressive" columnist Arianna Huffington's webzine of blogs The Huffington Post.

On March 23, 2005 Conyers spoke at a Lyndon LaRouche event in Detroit. LaRouche, a former Socialist Workers Party (SWP) organizer and follower of Marxist Leon Trotsky, co-founder of the Soviet Union, later embraced conspiracy theories and held at various times that the world was secretly controlled by Britain's Queen Elizabeth, British bankers, Israel or the Trilateral Commission. The Anti-Defamation League has described LaRouche as an anti-Semite.

LaRouche, now in his eighties, is also a perennial presidential candidate who made his 8th run for the Oval Office in 2004. In 2000, running as a Democrat, LaRouche won 22 percent of Arkansas' primary votes against Al Gore but was denied any delegates at the Democratic National Convention because the Democratic National Committee ruled he was "not a real Democrat." In December 2004, according to one account, Conyers "invited LaRouche's group to present political testimony of alleged GOP voter suppression before an unofficial panel he chaired."

(These deceptive Conyers "Hearings" have been published as a paperback book the Congressman gives to those who contribute $50 to his campaign coffers. This book, titled What Went Wrong in Ohio: The Conyers Report on the 2004 Presidential Election, was published by Academy Chicago Publishers "more as a public service than a money making venture," said Conyers on his blog. If so, does this make publication of this book a potentially-illegal campaign contribution? The book, adds Conyers, "has an amazing forward [sic] by Gore Vidal.")

It strains credibility for a powerful and sophisticated Democratic leader such as Conyers to claim no knowledge of who and what Lyndon LaRouche is. This, however, is what Conyers' staff did when reporters, in response to an internet story, began asking about the Congressman's links to this controversial figure accused of anti-Semitism.

Confronted with several of LaRouche's statements about Jews, a member of Conyers' staff told one journalist: "After finding your post, we went to your suggested links and pulled up the LaRouche quotes that were, to say the least, antisemitic and racist. We brought them to Mr. Conyers attention. He was shocked and surprised. On his behalf: he unequivocally condemns these statements, and he will not speak before any group he knows to be associated with LaRouche unless they renounce these views. If he knew about these sickening quotes, he would not have spoken before the group."

But on stage at the LaRouche event, flanked by the Midwest coordinator of the LaRouche Political Action Committee (sponsor of the event) and a leader of the LaRouche Youth Movement, Conyers according to one source had told the audience that he wanted to help them "take these [LaRouche] arguments, the book [LaRouche's Draft Democratic Party Platform], the weekly newsletter, and let's get it out into the debate ... what I would like to do with you, is to begin to debate these issues. I know that they're taken as gospel. But, unless they can stand the test of debate, they're just a great view held by a number of people, who believe one thing. But that's not going to sell it. And so, what I want to do, is, extend the discussion: What we need is discussions about this and where [the Democratic Party is] and where are we going."

Rep. Conyers is the ranking Democrat on the powerful House Judiciary Committee, and he also sits on the Courts, the Internet & Intellectual Property Subcommittee and the Border Security & Claims Subcommittee. If Democrats regain a majority in the House of Representatives, Conyers will become Chairman of the Judiciary Committee and have the power to determine who receives lifetime appointments as federal judges or U.S. Supreme Court Justices. Each of these federal judges and Justices will have the power to reshape American law.

Tied for the title as Conyers' single biggest campaign contributor is the Association of Trial Lawyers of America (ATLA), whose members make much of their money by threatening to sue American businesses. Other big donors include organized labor, which provides nearly 37 percent of his Political Action Committee (PAC) contributions. Almost 60 percent of Conyers' PAC money comes from businesses and professional groups. Among his largest recent campaign contributors have been AT&T, Time Warner, Echostar Communications, MCI Group, MGM Mirage casino, the National Cable & Telecommunications Association, and the National Association of Broadcasters. Among his big donors is General Motors but, oddly, not the labor union for which his father was a leftist apparatchik, the United Auto Workers.

In 2003-2004 Conyers received 85.4 percent of his campaign contributions from outside the state and district he represents.

I wanted to thank Rep. Conyers for standing up to the administration and demanding answers to our questions. I'm sure you're wise enough to see the difference between the intelligent, articulate folks at DU and the maniacal opposition trying to make all of us, as well as yourself, look bad.

It's rather amusing that, twenty years ago, the righties were anti-Israel and yet, now, they're banging on us for it. Because one challenges some of Israel's actions, it does not make one anti-Israel or anti-semitic. It's a terribly projective assumption on the part of the trolls.

Yes I've seen the movie. Moore is very selective in what he tells you and he uses pictures and inuendo to get you to assume more than actually is there. As for Conyer's motives it's not nearly as clear as Moore's (to make sure Bush didn't get re-elected) but I'd say for starters, he wants his party back in power. I got to see the CSPAN rerun tonight, and putting faces with
the names was enlightening.

Perhaps these people have the experience how to defeat the

There is of course the natural urge, that comes from deep within the gut, to punish those who attack us. And the higher the crime, the deeper the urge. This finds expression in such verbiage as "not only impeached, but arrested, tarred and feathered, and made to walk down the street so that all the war widows, orphans, and parents of slain children (like Ms. Sheehan)can spit on them." which we find posted here yesterday. While I find it very difficult to disagree with the sentiment, I find myself less enthusiastic about the anticipated practical effect of such.

The actual pourpose of revolution is the removal of the opposition from power. This is made more difficult when the opposition is forced to fight not just to retain power, but also to retain thier lives. Moreover, in the longer run, I doubt that many of us would enjoy living in the culture of violence that would be the inevitable result of excessive retribution. And, further, I doubt that such a program would actually remove ALL of the offenders from positions of authority. And, at the edge, I note that such retribution violates the law, and that the law cannot be enforced by breaking it.

I would like to point at, for the consideration of yourself and other interested parties, another path, one which proceeds in the direction we do want to go and which coincides with our core principals, political, legal and religious. I would like you to bring to mind a certian television commercial, which sold shampoo. The line the actress used was "And I told two friends and she told two friends and they told two friends..." and quickly the screen was filled happy faces.

When you are done laughing think about it a little bit more. Obviously, it is not difficult to put the clamp on the most obvious bad guy. Cleaning out a nest of vipers, now that's another thing. The likely outcome is you will be snakebit, many times, and you will not get them all. The approach I advocate is offering absolution in exchange for a solution. I advocate offering retirement, instead of prison, to each properly convicted member of this conspiracy who provides proof against two unconvicted coconspiritors.

Oh, the incredible lieniancy! Well no, not really. I am nowhere near as interested in punishing these people as I am in being rid of them, in terms of thier effect on my life, forever. And there is no-one who can be better relied upon to know where the evidence is, nor who it applies to, as the guilty. It is simply a matter of giving them a reason to help, instead of harm.

As to the legal basis behind this, while it may be said to be out of date, my copy of the Constitution contians the following in paragraph three of ammendment fourteen:

No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice-President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or givin aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. But Congress may by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability.

Gina, I reluctantly supported this war in 2003, but I suspect that Bush went into Iraq because he couldn't catch Bin Laden. Like Colin Powell said, when we take over a country, we are responsible for the safety of the people who live there. Iraqis are being slaughtered every day because we can't keep them safe. We can't keep them safe because we don't have enough troops there. We can't send more troops because the American people will freak out. Powell said in his doctrine that we must use overwhelming force if we go to war. Now we are paying the price because Bush wouldn't listen to Powell. We had magnificent combat troops who took Baghdad in 3 weeks, and Bush was so stupid he thought the war was over. Now we're in another Vietnam. We can't control the borders, for every insurgent we kill, five more pop up, and because we're the foreigners there, most of the population is going to turn against us. Bin Laden is laughing at us. We took out his worst enemy in the Arab world, are pouring billions of dollars into a hopeless war, and are destroying the morale of our military by giving them an impossible task.

I watched the hearings on C-SPAN.

I saw Conyers, Barney Frank, Maxine Waters, a grotesquely bloated and slouching Jim McDermott, Jim Moran, and a couple other extreme lefties. Of course, no Republicans attended this make-believe hearing.

They gathered in a room (was it a bingo hall?) sitting around folding tables draped with filthy sheets that may have been white some years ago. Someone pushed American flags into the corners to make it look official. A loud radio kept interrupting the hearings and no-one seemed to know how to turn it off. At one point the lights went out. The room was so small the "witnesses" could not even face the Congressman. As a result they were force to give their "testimony" with their head craned to the right. The whole production looked like the set of a very cheap film. Everyone looked very uncomfortable and slightly embarrassed.

There were four--yes, four--witnesses: Joe Wilson (anyone remember him?) and three other shills, two of whom were selling their books. Another had some nutty theory that the United States invaded Iraq for oil, Israel and military bases in the Middle East. He claimed that Israel is dictating U.S. foreign policy.

Osama Bin Laden has declared war on the United States under the guise of many of our policies yes, one of which is the Palestinian conflict. He is a very wealthy man and his contribution is to supply them with weapons and bombs to kill themselves with? This is not a man who has the people's best interests at heart.

Sandra, we are who we are. Why must WE change that? We have done much good in the world and are a very blessed country. You frankly, are unable to appreciate how lucky you are to live in the greatest democracy the world has ever seen.

Gina, as much as I do not entirely agree with ANSWER I can assure you there is not some conspiracy related to radical fundamentalists.

And the wrong people are in fact being killed in Iraq, many who are simply defenseless citizens. People protecting their country don't deserve to be killed(Iraq) and don't deserve to be arrested(USA) and that is instead, what the uninformed masses have allowed.

The suggestions have been made to those working this project up is that the convict brigades only be used outside of the United States. What these sweet and charming dregs of society would do if in uniform and armed is so terrible of contemplation that there is no point even thinking about it. But what if they decide they do not like Bush? Look what happened to the Roman Emperor Caligula.”

But Iraq didn't attack us, it was not a haven for Islamic terrorists by any reasonable standard. As part of his "war on terrorism" Bush invaded one of the only Muslim countries that WASN'T supporting anti-American ISLAMIC terrorism. I don't think sending money to Palestinian families of anti-Israel terrorists can be defined as any threat to OUR security. I agree. On an upnote...I believe I read recently that we do have the support from other countries in the UN and NATO to start to remove 'trainees' out of the theatre and train them militarily elsewhere in another country and venue.

That will help, in my opinion it's a step in the right direction. But, it still won't solve the repeated attacks on anyone who is seen as supporting the 'US' effort.

You have to understand that alot of people are still not very informed about such things. They don't see how Saudi Arabia and the whole Bush Junta have been in bed together for years.

Pat Buchanon raised this debate question a while ago, and they called him a "tinfoil hat". The truth is the Bush Junta has been involved in massive money laundering, criminal activity, and genuine favors with Saudi Arabia going back over 10 years.

They're all in bed together on some massive, huge oil deals and they have a common vision. Of course, if everyone knew about PNAC's vision and the christian reich I doubt they'd even support Bush....

We're talking about massively disinformed people, not really anything hard. The reason they never attacked Saudis, is because they're joined together with 'em. So it made alot more sense like the plan, to go off and attack the muslims who's got all the oil and who hate christianity.

It's all just a bi-polar disorder as far as I can see. I agree we need to get rid of terrorists, including those at the top of our leadership for certain.

Pretty clear why we have been so ineffective at fighting terrorists and radicals, its because we actually are filled with our own.

Palast for Conyers: The OTHER ' Memos' from Downing Street and Pennsylvania Avenue

Greg Palast, unable to attend hearings in Washington Thursday, has submitted the following testimony:

It's official: The Downing Street memos, a snooty New York Times "News Analysis" informs us, "are not the Dead Sea Scrolls." You are warned, Congressman, to ignore the clear evidence of official mendacity and bald-faced fibbing by our two nations' leaders because the cry for investigation came from the dark and dangerous world of "blogs" and "opponents" of Mr. Blair and Mr. Bush.

On May 5, "blog" site Buzzflash.com carried my story, IMPEACHMENT TIME: "FACTS WERE FIXED," bringing the London Times report of the Downing Street memo to US media which seemed to be suffering at the time from an attack of NADD -- "news attention deficit disorder."

The memo, which contains the ill-making admission that "the intelligence and facts were being fixed" to match the Iraq-crazed fantasies of our President, is sufficient basis for a hearing toward impeachment of the Chief Executive. But to that we must add the other evidence and secret memos and documents still hidden from the American public.

Other foreign-based journalists could doubtless add more, including the disclosure that the key inspector of Iraq's biological weapons, the late Dr. David Kelly, found the Bush-Blair analysis of his intelligence was indeed "fixed," as the Downing Street memo puts it, around the war-hawk policy.

Here is a small timeline of confidential skullduggery dug up and broadcast by my own team for BBC Television and Harper's on the secret plans to seize Iraq's assets and oil.

February 2001 - Only one month after the first Bush-Cheney inauguration, the State Department's Pam Quanrud organizes a secret confab in California to make plans for the invasion of Iraq and removal of Saddam. US oil industry advisor Falah Aljibury and others are asked to interview would-be replacements for a new US-installed dictator.

On BBC Television's Newsnight, Aljibury himself explained,

"It is an invasion, but it will act like a coup. The original plan was to liberate Iraq from the Saddamists and from the regime."

March 2001 - Vice-President Dick Cheney meets with oil company executives and reviews oil field maps of Iraq. Cheney refuses to release the names of those attending or their purpose. Harper's has since learned their plan and purpose -- see below.

October/November 2001 - An easy military victory in Afghanistan emboldens then-Dep. Defense Secretary Paul Wolfowitz to convince the Administration to junk the State Department "coup" plan in favor of an invasion and occupation that could remake the economy of Iraq. And elaborate plan, ultimately summarized in a 101-page document, scopes out the "sale of all state enterprises" -- that is, most of the nation's assets, "… especially in the oil and supporting industries."

2002 - Grover Norquist and other corporate lobbyists meet secretly with Defense, State and Treasury officials to ensure the invasion plans for Iraq include plans for protecting "property rights." The result was a pre-invasion scheme to sell off Iraq's oil fields, banks, electric systems, and even change the country's copyright laws to the benefit of the lobbyists' clients. Occupation chief Paul Bremer would later order these giveaways into Iraq law.

Fall 2002 - Philip Carroll, former CEO of Shell Oil USA, is brought in by the Pentagon to plan the management of Iraq's oil fields. He works directly with Paul Wolfowitz and Douglas Feith. "There were plans," says Carroll, "maybe even too many plans" -- but none disclosed to the public nor even the US Congress.

January 2003 - Robert Ebel, former CIA oil analyst, is sent, BBC learns, to London to meet with Fadhil Chalabi to plan terms for taking over Iraq's oil.

March 2003 - What White House spokesman Ari Fleisher calls "Operations Iraqi Liberation" (OIL) begins. (Invasion is re-christened "OIF" -- Operation Iraqi Freedom.)

March 2003 - Defense Department is told in confidence by US Energy Information Administrator Guy Caruso that Iraq's fields are incapable of a massive increase in output. Despite this intelligence, Dep. Secretary Wolfowitz testifies to Congress that invasion will be a free ride. He swears, "There's a lot of money to pay for this that doesn't have to be U.S. taxpayer money. …We're dealing with a country that can really finance its own reconstruction and relatively soon," a deliberate fabrication promoted by the Administration, an insider told BBC, as "part of the sales pitch" for war.

May 2003 - General Jay Garner, appointed by Bush as viceroy over Iraq, is fired by Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld. The general revealed in an interview for BBC that he resisted White House plans to sell off Iraq's oil and national assets.

"That's just one fight you don't want to take on," Garner told me. But apparently, the White House wanted that fight.

The general also disclosed that these invade-and-grab plans were developed long before the US asserted that Saddam still held WDM:

"All I can tell you is the plans were pretty elaborate; they didn't start them in 2002, they were started in 2001."

November/December 2003 - Secrecy and misinformation continues even after the invasion. The oil industry objects to the State Department plans for Iraq's oil fields and drafts for the Administration a 323-page plan, "Options for [the] Iraqi Oil Industry." Per the industry plan, the US forces Iraq to create an OPEC-friendly state oil company that supports the OPEC cartel's extortionate price for petroleum.

The Stone Wall

Harper's and BBC obtained the plans despite official denial of their existence, then footdragging when confronted with the evidence of the reports' existence.

Still today, the State and Defense Departments and White House continue to stonewall our demands for the notes of the meetings between lobbyists, oil industry consultants and key Administration officials that would reveal the hidden economic motives for the war.

What are the secret interests behind this occupation? Who benefits? Who met with whom? Why won't this Administration release these documents of the economic blueprint for the war?

To date, the State and Defense Department responses to our reports are risible, and their answers to our requests for documents run from evasive to downright misleading. Maybe Congress, with it's power of subpoena, can do better.

Blogs, the Media and Democracy

Let me conclude with a comment about those pesky "blogs" that so bother the New York Times. We should stand and offer a moment of quiet gratitude to the electronic swarm of gadfly commentators who make it so much harder for the US media to ignore news not officially blessed. Yes, Judith Miller's breathless reports for The Times that Saddam possessed weapons of mass destruction may have maintained "access" for the mainstream press to its diet of White House propaganda, but the blogs insure that, whatever nonsense the US press is biting on, the public need not swallow.

I actually don't see it be the result of the misinformed or uninformed, however. I see it is the result of the grossly dis-informed.

One must remember when you're dealing with organized crime, they have a modus operandi of keeping people fed with dis-information that could come out of a sixth year old's mouth.

At one time I used to believe what Sean Hannity and Bob O'Reily were saying. I thought they might have a good point.

In fact I respect a pundits views veraciously. I really like John McCain for example. I really like Rush Limbaugh until he started going into crazy land. I stand up for men who know their moral convictions.

However, when those moral convictions turn into dis-information that's when I start getting curious. It all starts to piece together that, this CIA controlled reality they are spoonfeeding us is all made up.

Then I go out and start seeking answers, like Gina here. So it's not unprecedented to realize people are being brainwashed by dis-information, since its the very thing that keeps criminals away from the jaws of justice.

But ironically when you wake up to reality, that it is all dis-information you end up wanting to do something about it. I can see that now in most americans across the board. They were totally bamboozled by toady and want their revenge.

So if we don't have all the answers yet, I see great promise in getting those answers. I see great promise in putting Tony Blair on the record. If nobody was lying to us, why did the corporate media machine lie?

See that's what we all want to have answered, and I believe it strongly deserves answering. If nobody has been lying this whole time, why has the corporate media dis-informed, distracted, and done everything it can in order to cover up the truth?

That's the part which doesn't fit and I can absolutely see through the bullshit. Let's get those answers, real Americans not only ask for but they demand answers. So let's have those answers, if there's nothing to worry about. Can we have them now?

I think it is simply incorrect to label it being the uninformed or the misinformed masses. I have met many of these people. They are definitely not just uninformed. They believe the peddled lies being told to them quite literally.

To me this goes into a much broader catergory of information censorship. When these people are brainwashed by the lies that are on T.V., they are not just told something. They are dis-informed by huge amounts of lies and propaganda, that literally fits the definition of "co-vert" disinformation.

Take my for instance. I strongly support John McCain and like him alot. I strongly supported Rush Limbaugh for a while until he teetered off into crazy land. I strongly support Tim Russert. I am the definition of the type of people who watch their shows. I used to quite veraciously believe in Bob O'Reilly and Sean Hannity of Fox News until quite literally their comments began to sound like soundbytes coming out of a sixth-grader.

We were told to believe liberals are all to blame for rising gas prices, and there is a new contingent of terrorists becoming independant out there on the american left. We were told that communism was becoming a swiftly accepted and practiced idea. I just could not swallow or even wrap my head around the cartoon, grade school bullshit coming out of their mouths.

Now, this got me very curious and I started investigating things. Alot of the things they were saying were not just flat wrong, but seemed to be on purpose. When I found out these sort of things are designed for CIA special ops, and were used in the 40s no less, I really got angry.

When I see anyone now who's just waking up from this bullshit, I feel sorry for them and get them a link or two to michaelmoore and bartcop as soon as possible. There is absolutely no way to believe these people, unless your mental health is suffering considerably.

And so from that, I call the dis-information propaganda on T.V. today what it is: Psy-Ops. For instance, if the corporate media was so positive the meeting minutes was another "tinfoil" conspiracy, why did they do their damndest not to cover it? Why are they insisting there is no truth to it, and then covering up the truth and saying its unimportant? Because if it truly was just another crazy moonbat story, they wouldn't deliberately be trying to deflect attention from it.

They are the questions which in turn, most americans waking up now need to not ask but demand answers to!!! Why is there no attempt to put meaning in the downing street minutes? Why read crazy lines off an actor script, and not do anything? Disinform, distract, and cover-up seem to be the modus operandi here. This always seems to come into play when there is a criminal organization.

So americans wake up with me, and demand the answers to that question....Why do they continually disrupt and obstruct, if there is nothing to downing street? Let's see, get Tony Blair on the witness stand. I'd like to know about this "moonbat" conspiracy by first getting official records. Or is covering up the fact they all lied so you can get paid more important....
